Pencombe House B & B

REF NR: 310

Pencombe House is a modern farmhouse situated in the midst of horse paddocks. The house is actually part of the Brickfields Horsecountry complex; so one advantage of being a bed and breakfast guest is free admission in to the centre. The house has only recently been built, and is very spacious and comfortable.

All the rooms are en-suite, have colour televisions and tea and coffee making facilities. Two of the rooms are suitable for families having a double and a single bed in each. We also have a travel cot for those requiring one. Breakfast is served in the dining room with horses looking in on you from the field outside the window. Breakfast can be a full-blown English with all the trimmings, plain and simple, or anything in between; we do try our best to please all of our guests.

There is a large drive in front of the house, so there is ample parking right outside the front door. We also have plenty of storage spaces for any keen cyclists to store bikes. The Island is a lovely place for cycling; there are some very good cycle tracks all over the countryside.

Brickfields Horsecountry is a unique tourist attraction allowing you to meet a range of horses and ponies from the cheeky Miniature Shetland Ponies to the magnificently Grand Shire Horses. Why not follow with a tour around our impressive carriage museum, which is home to a very extensive collection of horse drawn vehicles. You can also visit the donkeys, pigs and other farm animals before browsing through a lovely selection of gifts in our gift shop. While you are staying with us in Pencombe House we can arrange horse riding for you. The riding school on site caters for all standards, so if you've never tried it why not give it a go! If you are with us on a Wednesday evening you can watch show jumping in the main indoor arena in the centre, and even better you can view it from the comfort of the bar or cafe. The other facility that we are in a good position to offer is stabling for horses and ponies. We also sell hay and bedding should anyone require it. We have three outdoor sand paddocks for general use, as well as an indoor arena, which is available for hire.

There are several good pubs and restaurants within a mile or two. We are also close to Havenstreet where you can find the Steam Railway. There is a good taxi service locally, and there is also a bus that runs regularly and stops right outside Brickfields, coming from Ryde Esplanade and running on through to Havenstreet. It is the village Link Bus; Ryde bus station should be able to give you timetable information.

Situated on the outskirts of Ryde, half a mile from the main A3054 and 2 miles from the Fishbourne Ferry. Brickfields is ideally positioned for access from all corners of the Island. Pencombe House is situated right opposite Brickfields.

Steeped in history with 60 miles of stunning unspoilt scenery and a wealth of attractions, the Isle of Wight has something for everyone.  Just five minutes away is the Ryde wonderful beach. Visiting Island Eye you can discover the serenity of the Isle of Wight. Its historic sites, natural delights, music festivals and major national events make it a unique holiday destination. You can travel to most places on the Island in about half an hour or less, so there are an endless amount of beaches you could visit.

Pencombe House has been awarded a four-diamond rating. We take great care to make sure our guests are well looked after and we try our best to meet any requirements that you may have.
