The County War memorial is located in the Chapel of St Nicholas at Carisbrooke Castle. In 1904 St Nicholas Chapel was rebuilt to be a memorial to King Charles I. However in 1919, the decision was made to rework the chapel to become the County War memorial. Finally in 1929 it was finished and re-dedicated as the County War memorial.
