History Brannon Family Engravers

Bembridge From Across The Haven 1831

REF NR: 1520

The Print

This is a very interesting print, showing great detail. Looking down from St. Helen's green, we first see the cows grazing on the Duver and the entrance to Brading Haven beyond. Over on the Bembridge side, we can see many well known local houses and the Church of Holy Trinity (built in 1845) to the right.

The Brannons

George had four children. His sons Alfred and Philip followed their father into the engraving business and were very successful in their own right.  They produced not only engravings of the island but of other local towns and cities, including Southampton.
