Allied - Spitfire Mk V AR377

This Spitfire flying from 41 Squadron Merston in West Sussex, got into trouble and crash landed at Rowborough Farm Brading.The pilot Flt Sgt. W. A. Wright was injured and had to be assisted out of the aircraft by some local soldiers who had seen the crash.


At a later date, the plane was dismantled, subsequently repaired and put back into service. It finally ran out of luck in July 1944 when it stalled and crashed in the sea off Littlehampton.
