Allied - Douglas Havoc A-20

On the 7th June, 1994 a Havoc A-20 with engine trouble had to make a forced landing at Ashey Racecourse.The aircraft had minor damage and after a short period of repair, was flown out of the same field.


In 1938 the A-20 Havoc prototype was first flown. It was the first US combat aircraft to have a nose wheel. Many were built under the lease-lend contract and were sued by air forces across the world including Holland, Great Britain, Brazil and the Soviet Union.
