German – Messerschmitt Bf110-C4 3U +AR Yellow 6+

This Messerschmitt from 7/ZG26 Group crashed on 26th September, all crew lost. The aircraft crashed very close to the Bf109 crash of 18th August. So much so that a search of the site many years later in 1982 uncovered parts from both aircrafts overlaying each other.

Those killed were Lt. Konopka and Uffz EWiberg, however the ground troops who had gone to recover the plane were very lucky to have taken a tea break, as moments later some loose munitions strewn from the downed aircraft exploded!
