W Cookes’s plate of 1808 of The Cottage East Cowes publised in ‘A new picture of the Isle of Wight, illustrated with thirty-six plates of the most beautiful and interesting views throughout the island in initiation of the original sketches.’

The 1808 edition and all of the plates are hand drawn in this very early guide whihc became a firm favourite of vistors to the island.
