This Spitfire flying from 41 Squadron Merston in West Sussex, got into trouble and crash landed at Rowborough Farm Brading.

This Spitfire, which was assigned to the 41st Squadron out of Merston in West Sussex, ran into some difficulties while in flight and made an emergency landing at Rowborough Farm in Brading.As a result of his injuries, Flight Sergeant W. A. Wright, who was the pilot of the aircraft, had to be helped out of the aircraft by some local troops who had seen the accident.
At a later date, the plane was dismantled, subsequently repaired and put back into service. It finally ran out of luck in July 1944 when it stalled and crashed in the sea off Littlehampton.
