Ref Number: 00273
Examining the map allows the viewer to drill down even into the various sizes of the towns, villages and large country seats that were evident at the time.
Brannon issued a variety of supplementary maps and tourist publications of the Isle of Wight, in addition to individual reproductions of his engravings (including several that were not included in this 1840 edition). Brannon was an imaginative publishing entrepreneur. Note that the historical map that was utilised is from a later version of 1847, and that the primary reason it was selected is because it is available as a digital picture with a greater resolution.
