Brook House

REF NR: 3202

Situated down a quiet private lane Brook House was once the manor of Brook mentioned in the Domesday survey. In the beautiful and unspoilt village of Brook in rural West Wight, there is the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday.

The Clamorgan family occupied it for 300 years and Henry VI was entertained at there by Dame Joan Bowerman in 1499. The house was completely rebuilt in the early 18th century and then remodeled again in 1854 by the then owner Mr Charles Seely, MP for Lincoln. On his death the house was passed on to his son Sir Charles Seely who added a third storey and extended the estate buying farms all across the southern coast of the Island. The estate was sold in 1958 and the house split up. The house's current owners Geoff & Belinda Walters have lovingly restored the house and reunited all the main buildings to form a stunning home with beautiful gardens.

At Brook House, there is a choice of self-catering holiday cottages. Westbrook and Northbrook sit one above the other in the courtyard to Brook House, and the Old Coach House is just next door – all three enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the old Brook House estate. Each of our properties offers style, charm and character - as well as comfort and all the essentials that you will need for a wonderful holiday on the Island. They – and the Island – offer something to delight everyone, whether you are looking for a family holiday, a walker’s paradise or a quiet and romantic interlude. You can stay for a week or two… or just come for a short break.
