Popular with many Shanklin is a seaside resort as well as a being a civil parish located on the east coast’s Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight. It has many hotels along the esplanade as well as restaurants. It also has the Old Village at the top end of Shanklin Chine.  

Shanklin Theatre
Are you looking for the dramatics, or maybe a bit of light entertainment performed to a high standard of excellence? With room for 600 Shanklin Theatre is certainly a busy and highly capable venue bringing a varied programme by which professional performances in many shows and plays will only delight you. From Pirates of Penance to the works of Shakespeare all types of song and dance and crazy entertaining goings on are there to please. 

Beaches and esplanade
Do you prefer a beach as your setting? Well Shanklin has two; ‘Small Hope Beach’ as well as ‘Hope Beach’. Eventually Small Hope Beach joins Sandown Beach and has plenty of beach huts for hire.  The beaches are both excellent venues for all kinds of beach activity. Boasting traditional seaside attractions is the esplanade which is located above Hope Beach. The old Shanklin pier used to jut out from the promenade for about 200 meters but was virtually blown away on the 16th October 1987 in the a violent and worst storm for 200 years.

Shanklin Sailing Club
Are you the Sailing kind who enjoys getting out on the water? Shanklin Sailing Club could be for you. It was founded in the year of 1931 and is a small yet happy family Club, it has all the usual facilities including showers, changing rooms, a club house and gear store. The club has Laser’s, Pico’s, Enterprise’s, Mirror’s and Toppers. They race on a Thursday evening and Sunday mornings, however you can sail at virtually any other time.

Shanklin Chine
Would you like to experience a tranquil yet dramatically beautiful setting? Shanklin Chine is such a setting. Wandering through this peaceful historic gorge, enjoy your time to sit, see and hear the experience. You will be taken into a fantastical world of natural beauty, a sumptuous haven full of rare plants, wildlife, woodlands and a captivating waterfall. The Chine is also steeped richly in history from smuggling to geology, shipwrecks to PLUTO. Not forgetting the fantastic scenery.

Shanklin Old Village
Could you be the type that enjoys wandering a more historic looking part of town? A small part of Shanklin itself Shanklin Old Village envelops some of its oldest habitations a large number of them thatched. Located on slightly lower level than Shanklin town it is famous for its tea rooms and small gift shops.
