1. Pier belonging to the Appley Estate  Dec 1st 1906: COASTGUARDS REVOLVER PRACTICE – On Thursday targets were rigged up on the Appley private pier for the purposes of revolver practice by a number of local coastguards. The practice was watched with evident interest from the shore.
