Afton Pillbox
Pillbox in car park of Honnor and Jeffery Garden Centre, Jan 2010 has been uncovered and centre stage in the car park.

Freshwater Causeway - Pillbox
Situated at the western end of the Causeway, right hand side. This is an hexagonal type 22 pillbox. Bullet proof with all round apertures for defence. It covers the area of the marshes and affords protection for the nearly railway line (now extinct). It forms part of the Yar defence line and was built as with the others in the vicinity by the Royal Engineers attached 12th Infantry Brigade. It could at one time also be fitted with an AA gun on the roof.

Quarr Abbey
The Medieval Quarr Abbey. The ancient Quarr Abbey was part of the Cistercian Order and was founded in 1132 by Baldwin de Redvers, 1st Earl of Devon, fourth Lord of the Isle of Wight.

Ryde Fort
Ryde Fort was established in about 1489 to protect the early lower Ryde settlement. From the accounts it appears to have been a timber structure with one gun, firing both lead and stone shot. It remained in place until 1523
