History Brannon Family Engravers

Appuldurcombe House 1831

REF NR: 1519

The Print

Here we see the tranquil setting of Appuldurcombe House with deers playing in the foreground. Remember these deers, as they crop up again in the 1834 print in nearly the same position.

The Brannons

George had four children. His sons Alfred and Philip followed their father into the engraving business and were very successful in their own right.  They produced not only engravings of the island but of other local towns and cities, including Southampton.
