The Ventnor Fringe is a modern pilgrimage for artists of all creative disciplines. Started by a team of teenagers in 2010 as the Isle of Wight's answer to the world famous Edinburgh Fringe, it hasn't look back since, and now takes place each August over four days in locations encompassing the entire town.
In the past two years over 200 artists have taken part including musicians such as:
- Johnny Flynn,
- Marques Toliver,
- Karen Tweed and Jackie Oats performing intimate concerts in various churches,
- Prolific film Director Vincent Moon running a unique cinema space with the talented cellist Gaspar Claus
- BBC Poetry Slam Champion Dizraeli and his band 'The Small Gods' playing a stunning set in a pop-up Moroccan Restaurant,
- Children’s puppetry from Hand to Mouth Theatre and String Theatre
- Grand Ventnor Tea Dance led by Brighton's Ragroof Theatre to name just a few!
We're delighted to announce that we are set to return, more daring and creative then ever, in 2012, from the 17th - 20th August, to coincide with the 123rd Ventnor Carnival celebrations.
