Whitefield Forest Touring Park

REF NR: 63

Whitefield Forest Touring Park is set in the picturesque ancient woodland of Whitefield Forest on the outskirts of Ryde. We welcome visitors with their own motor home, touring caravan or tent. We welcome well behaved dogs and their owners and we provide a variety of dog walks including a network of public footpaths and walks from the park. We are really hapy to provide you with a friendly and peaceful environment where you can fully relax during your stay with us. Our aims have been to maintain the natural beauty of the forest, encouraging the growth of species native to this area of the Isle of Wight and to encourage wildlife, providing them with a safe, natural habitat whilst also providing a campsite of the highest quality for your enjoyment.

Our touring park is unique to the Island with its forest setting and terraced pitches. At Whitefield Forest Touring Park we can offer 80 spacious pitches which are a mixture of all-weather gravel hardstandings and grass pitches all with electric hook-up points (16amp). There is a 5mph speed limit on the whole park, cars are parked next to each pitch and each pitch is accessed by the network of gravel roads. Parking is available outside the reception for new arrivals and access to the reception is via a ramp. On arrival each guest will be given a copy of our welcome leaflet. If at any time during your stay you feel that you need help please mention it to any member of staff who will be pleased to assist.

We pride ourselves on our well kept grounds and super clean modern toilet and shower block. All pitches are well drained, level and sheltered providing an ideal campsite for tents, caravans and motorhomes. Our modern new toilet and shower block is heated, attractively tiled and equipped with privacy cubicles, hairdryers, razor points, baby changing, disabled facilities, washing up sinks and chemical emptying points. The laundry room has washing machines, spin and tumble dryers and free ironing facilities. We have achieved five pennants from the AA, five stars from Quality in Tourism and have been named the AA Campsite of the year for the South East Regoin 2010.

Within the amenity block we have a purpose built disabled room which is accessed via a small ramp and parking is available close by. We will allocate persons a pitch close to the disabled facility if requested at the time of booking. The room is fitted with the appropriate grab rails and alarm for the occupants use. Assistance Dogs are welcome on the park. Wheelchairs can be loaned from the Red Cross or hired from Island Mobility. Please note that our roads and paths are mainly constructed from compacted gravel. Reception is open from 9am to 5pm and there is a 24 hour emergency 999 phone located on the site. Vodaphone and Orange reception is good on the park.

Whitefield Forest Touring Park is well located between the sandy beaches of Ryde and Sandown and other Island attractions are easily accessible either by car or bus.  There are bus stops just outside The Park which will take you in either direction towards Sandown or Ryde. The number of public footpaths and bridal ways give access to the surrounding countryside and coastline allowing our guests to enjoy a variety of walks or cycle rides. Hidden in the forest we have an excellent adventure play area for children to enjoy with a responsible adult. We have developed the adventure play area further over the winter to include play equipment for younger children to enjoy whilst staying on the park. Red squirrels are common within Whitefield Forest. In an effort to maintain their environment we have left large areas on the outskirts of the forest untouched. Sit quiet and still for any length of time and you are bound to see one for yourself, our new squirrel hide provides a perfect spot for squirrel spotting.
