Wight Diamonds Marching Band

REF NR: 3360

Wight Diamonds Marching Band

'Wight Diamonds’ are one of the Isle of Wight’s premier marching bands having been formed early in the year 2000 with the specific aims of ensuring the continuation and development of traditional marching bands on the island. ‘Wight Diamonds’ started the 2000 season with 13/14 regular members but now has a regular membership of about 35-40.  The band participated in nearly 40 events on the island and mainland during each of the subsequent ten seasons.

‘Wight Diamonds’  has a large and expanding number of traditional and modern military marches as well as lighter prices for the less formal occasion in their library and repertoire. Traditional march composers such as Sousa and Alford figure alongside well known film themes.
The band are available for any events or occasions that benefit from rousing marching band music such as fetes, fairs, carnivals, bandstands or civic parades.

'Wight Diamonds’ are always looking to expand their membership.  Experienced players are always welcome and although we do not claim to be music teachers we are always keen to develop new or inexperienced players of any age. Our current playing membership spans six decades!
We hold twice weekly practices – if you are interested in playing and marching come along and meet us!
