Abingdon Guest Lodge is located at the top end of Ryde, just 5 minutes away from the esplanade, beautiful beach, and town centre which offers many pubs, cafes and restaurants. Our bright, comfortable and well presented accommodation is ideal for business travellers, those on short breaks and for people looking to be centrally located while enjoying the delights of the Isle of Wight.
The hotel dates back to Victorian times, and retains much of its original charm and character. The improvements and modernisation have been blended with the old to maintain the ambience whilst ensuring a high standard of accommodation. Abingdon Guest Lodge is open all year round and has centrally heated accommodation. We offer a choice of rooms to guests, which ranges from a good sized single, to a large family room up to six persons, there is an inter-connecting door between suits to increase occupancy to 12 persons. All rooms at Abingdon Lodge are comfortable, bright, tastefully decorated and furnished with modern Schreiber furniture. Rooms all have their own flat screen colour television with DVD player for your entertainment, en-suite facilities and a hospitality tray with tea and coffee. Some rooms have both bath and shower. Ironing boards, irons and hairdryers are available upon request at the reception. Rates are per room per night and exclude breakfast, although an extensive continental breakfast is available on request. Abingdon Lodge operates a strict no smoking policy. Children aged under five years old are accommodated free; providing they occupy their parents double/twin room. Travel cots not provided by the hotel. Pets are welcome. We are located just minutes away from Ryde town which offers a range of restaurants, cafes and pubs to suit all tastes and budgets. Located on the north east coast of The Island, enjoying views across The Solent towards Portsmouth and the shipping lanes, Ryde has miles of golden sands. The town is the gateway to the eastern isle, with the Fast Ferry Link, Hovercraft and car ferry which comes into Fishbourne, just to the west of Ryde and only 8 minutes to Abingdon lodge. From Ryde you can catch a bus to the Islands principal towns or take the train through to Brading, Lake, Sandown and Shanklin. A level walk along the esplanade will take you passed the ice rink, ten-pin bowling, pitch and putt and a children’s fairground. There is also a tidal harbour and fantastic views. Keep walking and you will pass Appley Tower, a great place for the children to play and the adults to chill out. Keep walking and if you will come across puckpool park cafe where you cnan sit and get your breath with a nice cuip of tea. before the walk after all, you are on holiday, spoil yourself. Getting to the Isle of Wight and Abingdon Lodge has become increasingly easy in recent years. There are regular ferry crossings which run throughout the night and day and the motorway network leads straight to the ferry terminals. To find the most direct route for you, visit the AA route planner. Abingdon Lodge can now offer Wightlink Ferry crossings from Portsmouth or Lymington in all-inclusive packages. Abingdon Guest Lodge is able to offer our guests free car parking and is positioned on a main bus route which runs regular services between Ryde and the County town of Newport; from which you can easily reach other outlying areas and attractions.
