History Maps of the Isle of Wight

1728 Knapton & Innes,

REF NR: 2066

This antique map was published in the 'Atlas Maritimus & Commercialis: or, a General View of the World, so far as Relates to Trade & Navigation', which contained only charts of the greatest commercial significance to the English. Edmond Halley, the Astronomer Royal, wrote a prefatory note discussing the use of the charts. It is believed that Daniel Defoe was also a contibutor.
