1. The site of the Custom House in East Cowes has been established as being south of the White Hart public house, and the site is now the access road to the Red Funnel Terminal. It is not, however, clear whether this was the site to which Cole moved to or when it was built, but is stated in 1818 to be nearly 100 years old.
