A CircularTour Around The Island From Ryde - Isle of Wight Attractions

What has the Isle of Wight got to offer the casual family visitors may well be a question that is asked from those that do not know the Island well. In point of fact it’s probably easier to give a small list of what the Isle of Wight can’t offer the family visitors. Basically the island is filled with tourist attractions places to see and things to do. From the moment you get off the ferry at Ryde with its long yellow prize beaches, parks gardens and easting establishments you know you have arrived on an Island that cater for you, the tourist.

Stop off at the Ice rink café or having a quick skating lesson at the Island Ice Rink or perhaps have a quick ten pin bowling lesson in LA Bowl.  Across the way you can stay at the Castle Hotel or perhaps you are camping so you will need to drive little way to Ryde camp sites at Beapers farm.  On the way dad might to take in a round of golf or have a quick drive on the Westridge Golfing range, if mum needs to do a quick shop it just so happens that Tesco’s is opposite very handy for dad.

Moving on through into Brading you will suddenly come upon a rare English site as next to the beautiful old church is a set of stocks, while you are examining these and planning how best to lock the children in them for the day, you must not miss out from dropping into the Brading Wax Museum and for the girls among you just opposite you will find the small but lovely Doll Museum.

Turning left on the road ahead will take you to Bembridge a fascinating small well established village catering for the older retired market place and is also home of the Bembridge lifeboat and quaint and quite Bembridge harbour with its surrounding wetlands and nature trails . If you or the family are bird lovers we recommend a stroll across the St Helens Duver or around the to the tip of Bembridge point, don’t forget to bring your bucket as this is fossil territory and the eagle eye can often pick out a real find.

Strait on from Bembridge around the Coast through Yaverland we come across one of the must do  visitor  attractions at the Isle of Wight Zoo which houses the largest collection of tigers in the UK, this building was at one time a known as Sandown Fort and was also used in the 2nd world war for military purposes. Form here to Sandown there are many adventurous things to do in and on the water , kite surfing, windsurfing , small dingy paragliding all happen on the foreshore and once a year this area adorns the Wight Air event for those really crazy extreme sports enthusiasts amoung you.

For a less extreme and very interesting afternoon you need to look no further than a few hundred meters towards Sandown itself, for there on your right you will find Dinosaur Island,   a fully family event , do drop in and find out all there is to know on what once walked the Isle.
